For strengthening the interpersonal skills and developing entrepreneurial mindset of graduating students, one-day seminar entitled “Career Counseling and Academic Advancing” was arranged by Career Counseling Center (CCC) on 10th May, 2017. Prof Dr. Naureen Aziz Qureshi, Vice Chancellor, GCWUF, was the chief guest of honor. Dr Shahid Soroya, DG (Special Initiative) Punjab Higher Education Commission was the guest of honor. Dr Shahid Tufail, Dr Habib Aslam, Gaba and Miss Haniya Mudassar, the guest speaker, emphasized the significance of personal grooming, professional growth and development of youth.
Career Counseling Center (CCC) and SSBC-GCWUF arranged a one day seminar on “I Can is More Important than IQ” for students and faculty of GCWUF on 3rd April, 2018. In first session more than 900 students attended the Seminar. Mr. Tahir Mehmood Chaudhry told them how they can achieve success in their daily life and how it will bring a new life to the institution.
Career Counseling Centre and SSBC of GCWUF organized an introductory session on WomenX on 13th July, 2017 to spread the awareness about WomenX program of “Enclude” and benefit potential entrepreneurs in Faisalabad. Ms. Haniya Mudassar, Assistant Project Manager, WomenX was the guest speaker.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) and Faisalabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FWCCI) has been signed Dated 6th July 2021 at FWCCI under the directorate of career counseling . In this ceremony Prof. Dr. Robina Farooq as Vice Chancellor GCWUF and Mrs. Tehmina Pasha as President FWCCI signed the MOU. This MOU aims at establishing long term, Sustainable and mutually beneficial cooperation in areas of bilateral interest for promoting research, training, education and employment opportunities between FWCCI and GCWUF.
The career counseling center GCWUF organized a five day (30th-aug-2021 to 3rd-sep-2021) faculty development training for nominated staff member of the university.The training aim to develop the potential professional and technical skills of the faculty members. It proved to be a fruitfull activity in capacity bulding of the teaching faculty to equip them with administrative skills. Key resource persons including Resident, Auditor Mr. Muhammad Akhtar Sadiq, DSA Ms. Asma Aziz, incharge P&D Ms. Sadia Asim, Incharge media cell Ms.Ammara Javed, Incharge DP&IC Mr. Ehsaan Lodhi, Treasurer Dr. Nosheen Syed, Liberarian Ms. Misbah Basheer, Incharge ORIC Dr. Sana Aslam, Director QEC Dr.Asma Khalid and IT manager Mr. Tariq Shehzad explained nature of work of their concerned offices and explained various technicalities of the administrative responsibilities. The key issue addressed by the resource persons were Payment Processed and Allied Matters. Fund Raising Skills, Public Private Partnership, Project Planning Approaches, Techniques and Management, Structuring Effective Communication at Work place, PPRA rules (Punjab Procurement RegulatoryAuthority) budget, Reappropriation of Accounts and Payroll, Quality Assurance in Higher Education, Semester System and Result Evaluation. The last session by registrar Dr. Zil-i-Huma Nazli was postponed due to certain official engagements. It will be conducted right after the lockdown is lifted and the teaching staff rejoins the on campus activities.
Career Counselling Centers (CCCs) is a project of Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) which aims to contribute in minimizing the level of pauperization and unemployment of the society. The Directorate of Career Counselling Government College Women University Faisalabad has been established to provide career counselling services to students by assisting them in choosing and evaluating various career opportunities and making the right choice to match their needs. The goal of Directorate of Career Counseling is to not only help students make the decisions they need to make now, but to give them the knowledge and skills they need to make future career and life decisions.
