Introduction

Economics Department is one of the preeminent teaching department of this new born university of Pakistan. The Department offers exceptional opportunities for undergraduates, graduates and researchers. New ideas and new directions in economic research are being developed and pursued with vigor by the high-profile faculty. Both undergraduate and graduate students are actively engaged in learning and research activities. The faculty of the department has multidisciplinary and diverse interests in the latest fields of Economics. All of them are actively involved in research and publication activities. Faculty members have also served on higher positions at national level in different institutions.

Vision

To achieve broad and increasing recognition of its programs among public and private institutions in the region, and to equip students with skills to implement theoretical and applied research in order to resolve problems confronting the economy.

Mission

The Department of Economics is committed to providing quality education, fostering critical thinking, analytical skills, ethical values, and evidence-based decision-making to address contemporary economic challenges. The department aims to develop competent graduates equipped with theoretical knowledge, quantitative skills, and practical insights to contribute effectively to sustainable economic development, public policy formulation, research, and community welfare at national and international levels.
