Government College Women University is striving for opportunities to provide quality facilities of research to its students. Recently, Department of Biochemistry developed linkages with 2 organizations; one from academia 'University of Education-Faisalabad Campus' and the other Bussiness herbal company 'Awami Laboratories, Lahore which was the 1st ever MOU signed by any academic institution of Faisalabad with an herbal industry. Both the organizations signed memorandums with GCWUF for provision of necessary research facilities in the field of medicinal Biochemistry, phytochemistry, and extraction and development of natural products. The MOUs signing ceremony was held at Jin'nah Auditorium, GCWUF at the event of conduct of "Two days 1st National Seminar Organized by Department of Biochemistry on 2nd and 3rd August, 2023". Dr. Mubshara Saadia presented the 2-MOUs as Chairperson on behalf of Department of Biochemistry. The MOUs were signed from GCWUF by Registrar, Asif. A. Malik and the Worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Zil-i- Huma Nazli, while Prof. Dr. Shahid Iqbal signed MOU as Principal-University of Education Faisalabad Campus, and Mr. Irfan Shahid signed the MOU as CEO-Awami Laboratories, Lahore. At the occasion, Incharge ORIC, GCWUF, Faculty of Department of Biochemistry, Coordinators of Faculties, Guest Speakers and Students of Biochemistry were also present. On her address, the Worthy Vice Chancellor GCWUF appreciated the efforts of Chairperson, Department of Biochemistry in developing linkages to minimize the gaps between academia and industry and wished that the links developed would be helpful in establishing strong career of students in herbal research and in industries.
