Introduction

Sociology is the scientific study of human relationships and their consequences. Sociological knowledge is applicable at individual, family and societal level. So on increasing demand of the subject a four years programme B.S(Hons). in Sociology was introduced in 2013. BS (Hons). in Sociology is a broad based interdisciplinary degree which gives a deep insight to the students about a wide range of science subjects. The course outline for BS Sociology has been designed as to introduce the students with evolution of humans, culture, character and dynamics of the societies, types of social systems, socio-economic changes, understanding about globalization and its role towards changing gender relation in various societies. Thus the program will enable the students to carry out the research on different socio-cultural and economic problems in the society and graduates will get ample opportunities for a variety of jobs in the society.2 years program of M.Sc. Sociology has also been started from 2015.Moreover we are also planning to start M.Phil.. program soonSociology is the scientific study of hum,an relationship and their consequences. The mission of Sociology Department is to provide Sociological knowledge to the student which is relevant to their particle life.Moreover efforts are being made to discover the broad pattern of Interaction of Social life that influence the social behavior. This is further strengthened by carrying out research on socio-Ecnomic,Cultural, Environment and Political problems of Pakistan Society

  • Program Duration: 2 years
  • Eligibility Criteria: B.A/B.Sc (2 years) or equivalent with the relevant subject with at least 45 % marks (2nd Division) *Candidates with only B.Com are eligible to apply **Candidates must qualify an Aptitude Test securing 50% marks ***Hafiza or Alima can obtain 5 grace marks if she had authentic certificate of Wifaq. Certificate of local madrissas will not be entertained
