One-Day International Seminar on English Language and Literature at GCWUF�The Department of English at GCWUF organized a one-day international seminar titled “The Nexus Between English Language and Literature” on May 19, 2025, in celebration of International English Language Day, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.), Vice Chancellor.��Dr. Saira Akhter, Incharge, Department of English, welcomed the guests. The seminar featured distinguished speakers including Prof. Dr. Shahbaz Arif (Shalamar Institute, Lahore), Dr. Sabahat Perveen (University of Agriculture, Faisalabad), Dr. Tasawar Abbas Shah (University of New Mexico, USA), and Dr. Qasim Shafiq (Baba Guru Nanak University), covering topics on language structure, Gen Z language teaching, academic writing, and indigenous literature.��An online stream extended the event’s reach. A creative segment led by Ms. Fauzia Amin featured student performances, literary character enactments, a book exhibition, and a documentary on the evolution of English.��The seminar was attended by faculty, department heads, and notable guests including Muhammad Hassan Lali and Rana Masaib Khan. Dr. Rukhsana Baloch delivered the vote of thanks, and Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli, Pro-Vice Chancellor, highlighted the global importance of English. Guest speakers were presented with souvenirs in appreciation.
