VC, GCWUF Inaugurates Revamped and Renamed Library as LEARNING RESOURCE CENTRE. ÚFaisalabad, July 31, 2025 — In a significant step toward academic innovation and digital transformation, the Government College Women University Faisalabad has inaugurated its Learning Resource Centre (LRC), formerly called the university library, with the offering of hybrid learning opportunities to the students and faculty. ÚThe upgraded facility reflects Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen’s (T.I.) vision of creating inclusive, student-focused, digitally accessible resources and spaces to provide meaningful engagement and academic excellence.ÚThe inauguration was attended by academic and administrative heads, coordinators, and library staff. The Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the Library Committee under the convenership of Prof. Dr. Saima Akram, and especially Ms. Misbah Bashir, University Librarian, for leading the transformation.ÚThe redesigned LRC now features a designated Faculty Research Room, Students’ Discussion Corner, Literature Room, and thematic areas such as the Kashmir Corner and Rehmat-Ul-Lil-Alameen Corner with over 35,000 books and a shift toward digital integration. Moreover, an Automated Circulation System and the University’s Digital Repository are available at LRC to offer an easily accessible learning experience for all.
