GCWUF Celebrates 78th Independence Day with Patriotic ZealÚFaisalabad, August 13, 2025 — Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) marked Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day and Marka-e-Haq 2025 victory with a spirited blend of patriotism, innovation, and healthy competitions.ÚThe festivities began with a patriotic poster display inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.), followed by a seminar on Freedom of Speech, the Constitution, and National Security featuring Brig. (R) Dr. Abdul Hameed, Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military), and Prof. Dr. Humayun Abbas.ÚHighlights included a monsoon plantation drive, a bilingual speech competition, friendly cricket and badminton matches, and a Tech Exhibition & Competition showcasing projects in digital defense, AR/VR, gaming, and Islamic tech heritage.The judging panel included Dr. Muhammad Shahzad Sarfraz (Director FAST Chiniot–Faisalabad Campus), Mr. Asif Iqbal (Deputy Director FIA Cyber Crime Wing), and Mr. Muhammad Tariq Shahzad (Director IT Services), and Mr. Muhammad Tariq Shahzad, Director IT Services, GCWUF.Ú“Our Independence Day celebrations are not just about remembering the past but inspiring our youth to innovate, serve, and safeguard Pakistan’s future,” said Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen.ÚTo promote environmental sustainability, GCWUF organized a Monsoon Plantation Drive. Faculty, students, and environmental partners, including Mr. Raheel Sultan (Best Garden Farms), Dr. Shahzad Ahmad Basra (Virsa), and Mr. Sajid Iqbal Sandhu (Green Circle), actively participated. ÚThe day’s events reflected GCWUF’s mission to nurture patriotism, creativity, social responsibility, and teamwork among students.ÚThe Directorate of Student Affairs, in collaboration with the Departments of Art & Design, Political Science & International Relations, Botany, English, and Urdu, organised the events.
