Faisalabad, September 24, 2025 —In a groundbreaking initiative to bridge academia with industry, Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF), under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.), has launched the Community Champions Committee. This visionary platform unites representatives from the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, business leaders, entrepreneurs, health professionals, educationists, and environmentalists to foster sustainable collaboration for human resource development, research aligned with industry needs, and innovation.Chaired by the Vice Chancellor at the inaugural meeting, the committee attracted eminent participants from FCCI, FWCCI, PHMA, FPCCI, Gaba Heart Centre, Green Circle Pakistan, Agri-Tourism, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Bajwa Auto, AZ Apparel, CLOA, and other organizations. Members candidly discussed challenges, including a trust gap between academia and industry, the inexperience of interns, weak communication skills, and limited institutional linkages. They stressed the need to professionally groom students to meet market expectations.Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen responded by highlighting GCWUF’s proactive measures such as Syndicate-approved “Professors of Practice” to engage industry experts in teaching and mentoring. A compulsory course on personality development to strengthen students’ professionalism and communication. Strategic prioritization of Human Resource Development as a core academic goal.The Vice Chancellor also invited industry partners to collaborate with GCWUF’s Hi-Tech Lab, Diagnostic Lab, Business Incubation Centre, and Fashion & Textile Design Department to enhance innovation and market relevance.
