GCWUF Department of Chemistry Celebrates Science Day & Science Week 2025ÚFaisalabad, November 12, 2025 — The Department of Chemistry, Government College Women University Faisalabad, celebrated Science Day 2025 and Science Week (12–16 November) with the theme “Trust, Transformation, and Tomorrow: The Science We Need for 2050.” The event highlighted the role of science in innovation, sustainability, and future preparedness.ÚThe Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.) inaugurated the celebration, appreciating the Department’s efforts to strengthen experiential learning and academia–industry linkages. She was accompanied by Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli, Coordinator, Science & Technology, and Dr. Sadia Asim, Registrar, GCWUF. Representatives from Saffron Pharmaceutical Industry, Faisalabad, also visited the student projects and praised their scientific potential.ÚA key feature of the event was a Chemistry Exhibition, where students showcased cosmetics, herbal soaps, lotions, creams, and eco-friendly paint dyes developed under the Industrial Chemistry-II practical course. Faculty, research scholars, and 5th-semester students collaborated on these market-relevant and sustainable formulations, reflecting strong applied learning practices at GCWUF.ÚAs part of Science Week, the Department launched hands-on training sessions in its laboratories, offering practical exposure to modern analytical instruments, calibration procedures, and research-based operations. The initiative aims to enhance students’ technical competence and better prepare them for careers in industry, research, and innovation.ÚThe celebration reinforced GCWUF’s commitment to promoting scientific literacy, innovation, and industry-aligned skill development among young chemists.
