Celebration of Best Women University of the Year 2022 (QS Asia Ranking) & Research Productivity Award Ceremony was organized by Office of Research Innovation & Commercialization in Jinnah Auditorium today on 06-12-2022. The Chief Guest, Chairperson Punjab Higher Education Commission, Prof Dr Shahid Munir, Patron in Chief, Vice Chancellor, Govt College Women University Faisalabad, Prof Dr Robina Farooq (TI), Guests of Honor; Vice Chancellor University of Okara Prof Dr Muhammad Wajid, Vice Chancellor Baba Gru Nanak University Nankana sahib, Prof Dr Azra Yasmin Acting Vice Chancellor, Fatima Jinnah Women University Rawalpindi, and Prof Dr Nosheena from University of the Punjab Lahore joined the ceremony. JDr Kanwal Rehman, Director ORIC Women University Multan, Dr Ahsan Nazir, Director ORIC National Textile University, Faisalabad, Registrar NFC Shabeeb Gill, Dr Shahid from Systech Technologies, Coordinators, Registrar Mr M Asif Malik, Controller of Examination, Heads of all teaching departments, awardees and students attended the ceremony. The ceremony was organised and hosted by Incharge Oric Dr Farhat Jabeen. The proceedings of the event started with the recitation & Naat e Rasool e Maqbool. Prof Dr Robina Farooq (TI) shared progress of GCWUF in terms of commercialization of R&D products of GCWU, patents filed, laboratories development and commencements of new degree programs. She also highlighted the importance of applied research sharing some of the advanced research trends. Chief guest of the ceremony, Prof Dr Shahid Munir highly appreciated the efforts of Prof Dr Robina Farooq for scoring 1st position among all women universities in QS Asia Ranking. Chairman PHEC also shared his desire that there should be a thesis fair of Post graduate students and Chamber of Commerce should be invited in the fair to take up the ideas to the industry. Later Research productivity awards and cheques were distributed among faculty members. 62 faculty members from faculty of Science & Technology, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences & faculty of Public Administration & Business Management published 183 research articles ;144 I W-category, 37 Y-category & 2 X-category HEC recognized journals. These publications are in coherence with 07 Sustainable development Goals (SDGs); 2-zero hunger, 3-good health & wellbeing, 4-quality Education, 6-clean water & sanitation, 7-affordable and clean Energy, 13- climate action and 14-Life below water. An amount of 0.98 M PKR was distributed among awardee faculty members. Vice Chancellor GCWUF, Prof Dr presented souvenirs to the chief guest and guests of honor. The ceremony ended with National Anthem.
