We are pleased to inform that Government College Women University Faisalabad has achieved another milestone in winning internships for our students in a well-reputed corporate sector in Pakistan. The university signed an MOU with Bank Alfalah Islamic on 3rd January 2023. The Bank Alfalah Islamic is offering free internships to our thirty-six (36) students enrolled in the degree of Islamic banking. The MOU ceremony was held in the committee room of the university. Worthy Vice Chancellor GCWUF Prof. Dr. Robina Farooq (T.I) graced the occasion as chief guest. The guests of honour included Chief Manager State Bank Faisalabad Mr. Waqas Kashif Bajwa, and RBH Multan-Faisalabad Muhammad Ramzan. DCM SBP Mr. Muhammad Akbar, AOM IBG Faisalabad Mr. Atif Sohail, and BM Susan Road Branch Ms. Zaira Bano Tung attended the ceremony as guests from banking sector. Registrar GCWUF Mr. Asif A. Malik, Treasurer Anser Mughal, Director Academics Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli, all academic coordinators, directors, HOD Islamic Studies Department, and Director Student Affairs Ms. Asma Aziz attended the ceremony from GCWUF. The ceremony started with formal introduction of the university by Registrar GCWUF. He declared the signing of this MOU a creation of social fiction that will bring a progressive change to all thirty-six families whose daughters are going to win these internships. Mr. Muhammad Ramzan from Bank Alfalah Islamic explained his vision of providing multiple opportunities to the female youth in the banking sector; dissemination of wide information about Islamic banking in Pakistan, and secondly, women empowerment in the corporate banking sector. He hoped for a long-term relationship between the university and Bank Alfalah to cater both of the causes. CM SBP Mr. Waqas Kashif Bajwa acknowledged that the State Bank is extensively working on Islamic Banking in Pakistan to promote the business through banks on religious grounds. He thanked the Vice Chancellor GCWUF to create opportunities of growth of the students in this field and appreciated her vision to equip her students with practical experiences at a real workplace so that after completing their degrees, these students may turn into a valuable human resource. Mr. Akbar declared the MOU a milestone in the field of Islamic banking, as GCWUF is the first ever women university that has been given internships for female students. Worthy Vice chancellor GCWUF Prof. Dr. Robina Farooq congratulated the students on winning this golden opportunity and advised them to fulfill their assignments under it with full devotion and dedication to come up to the expectations of the banks. She expressed her pleasure on the new working relationship between the university and the Islamic bank patted the shoulder of Director Student Affairs Ms. Asma Aziz on her successful collaboration with Islamic Bank for provision of this great prospect. The speeches led to the document signing ceremony. Mr. Asif A Malik Registrar GCWUF on behalf of the university, and Mr. Muhammad Ramzan RBH Multan-Faisalabad on behalf of Bank Alfalah Islamic signed the MoU deed.
