Department of English, GCWUF arranged poster presentation on the topic of Creative Writing on 2nd June 2023. Prof. Dr. Saleem Farooq Shaukat, Director COMSATS Wihari Campus graced the occasion as chief guest of the event. Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Robina Farooq (T.I) and Pro VC Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli accompanied the chief guest. The presenters illustrated their re-created stories on posters. They used several folklores and fables in their own way to demonstrate the importance of Creative Writing. These young writers breathed new life into old stories, making them more engaging and exciting for modern audiences. The guests enjoyed the innovative versions of already existing stories in an entirely new mode and manner. Prof. Shoukat cherished the imaginative and ingenious endeavors of the students of English Department and hoped that this creative writing activity will enable students develop their critical thinking and innovative writing skills, expressing their thoughts and ideas more effectively, and hone their creativity. The organizer of the event Ms. Sadia Waheed explained that creative writing is not only valuable for aspiring writers but also for those who want to pursue a career in fields that require strong writing skills, such as journalism, advertising, and public relations. Head of English Department Ms. Saira Akhter thanked the honourable guests for their valuable visit to the department for encouragement and appreciation of her students.
