World Quality Day


QEC, GC Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) celebrated World Quality Day, the QS Asia University Ranking 2023, and the accreditation awarded to the Department of Food Science & Technology by the National Agriculture Education Accreditation Council (NAEAC). The event took place on Monday, November 13th. All Administrative and Academic Heads of the various departments were invited to partake in the celebration. The theme for World Quality Day 2023 was "Quality Realizing your Competitive Potential." Dr. Aasma Khalid, the QEC Director, delivered a presentation on GCWUF's Competitive Potential, covering global rankings and the self-assessment processes driving improvement. Attendees gained insights into the academic, strategic, and operational elements that collectively contribute to GCWUF's competitive edge. Notably, GCWUF is ranked as the first women university in Pakistan and Southern Asia, as well as the third women university in overall Asia. Dr. Aasma introduced the six parameters of the QS World University Ranking, QS Asia University Ranking, QS ESG Metrics World University Ranking, and QS Subject University Ranking to the heads of the departments. She stressed the pivotal role of publications, academic reputation, and graduate employment as key determinants for success in the rankings. Subsequent to that, the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli handed over a certificate of accreditation from the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to the Department of Food Science and Technology. The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli extended heartfelt recognition for the department's commendable efforts and encouraged other departments currently navigating the accreditation process to expedite their procedures and aspire to the same level of recognition. The day concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony, symbolizing the celebration of GC Women University Faisalabad's accomplishments. The Vice-Chancellor extended appreciation to Dr. Aasma Khalid, the QEC Director, and her committed team for their outstanding coordination and substantial contributions to the university's continuous pursuit of excellence. The Vice-Chancellor took a moment to express gratitude and appreciation to all the heads of teaching and non-teaching departments for their timely submission of data to QEC. Recognizing their valuable contributions, she encouraged them to persist in their dedicated efforts, emphasizing the importance of their continued collaboration for the ongoing enhancement and progress of the university. The Vice-Chancellor's words served as both acknowledgment for their current endeavors and as a motivational call to further contribute to the betterment of the institution.
