Department of Chemistry, Government College Women University Faisalabad successfully conducted its First Ph.D. defence on December 14th, 2023. Ms Farah Yasmin (2014-GCWUF-0095) defended her dissertation entitled ???Theoretical and experimental studies of Hibiscus Rosa-Sinensis and Salvia Rosamarinus varieties for their biological potentials??? supervised by Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli (Supervisor), Dr. Nusrat Shafiq (Member-1) Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, GCWUF and Dr. Maryam Aslam (Member-2), Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry GCUF. External members for this public defence were Prof. Dr Shazia Anjum, Dean Faculty of Chemical and Biological Sciences from The Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Prof. Dr Farooq Anwar, University of Sargodha. Controller of Examination Ms Rizwana Tanveer Randhawa, Director Academics Dr Salma Shahid, Director ORIC Dr Hira Muneer, Coordinator of Science and Technology Dr Saima Akram and faculty members of the Department of Chemistry, honoured the house with their presence. The M.Phil. and PhD research students also participated in the open house defence. Lastly, Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum and Prof. Dr. Farooq Anwar congratulated Ms. Farah Yasmin, on her successful thesis defence.
