Mental Health Camp


As part of the Community Services Program, the Department of Applied Psychology, Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) organized a Mental Health Camp for the students of Graduate Government College (GGC), People???s Colony, Faisalabad, on February 11, 2025. The initiative was led by Dr. Riffat Sadiq, In-charge and Assistant Professor, Department of Applied Psychology, GCWUF, with valuable support from Dr. Najma Bano, Head of the Department of Psychology, and Dr. Anza Ijaz, Associate Professor, Department of Psychology (GGC). The camp was efficiently managed by Ms. Hafiza Saba Javaid and Ms. Quratulain, the designated focal persons for community services, who demonstrated exceptional leadership in executing the program. The primary objective of the Mental Health Camp was to raise awareness about psychological well-being and its impact on students??? social and academic lives. Approximately 200 students visited the camp, and 97 students received psychological support for various psychosocial and academic concerns. The camp offered a range of services, including: ???? Screening for common mental health challenges such as stress, anxiety, depression, and anger. ???? Individual and group counseling sessions tailored to students' needs. ???? Consultation and guidance on coping strategies and mental wellness. Group counseling sessions were conducted by Ms. Saba Javaid and Ms. Quratulain, focusing on practical coping strategies such as mental exercises, life skills development, and problem-solving techniques. Individual counseling sessions were held in a one-on-one setting, ensuring complete confidentiality and privacy. Additionally, psychologists guided students on how to seek future psychological support from the Psychological Wellness Center at GCWUF. The Mental Health Camp proved to be a valuable initiative, fostering open conversations about mental health, raising awareness, and empowering students to prioritize their psychological well-being as they strive to achieve their life goals. #gcwuf #gcwufofficial #womenuniversity
