A transformative 4-Day Training of Trainers on dairy by-products, led by renowned dairy sciences expert Prof. Dr. Aysha Sameen from Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF), took place in Quetta from October 28th to 31st. This program, held under the Growth for Rural Advancement and Sustainable Progress (GRASP) initiative and organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) with funding from the European Union (EU), aimed to equip trainers across Balochistan with essential dairy processing skills. As the master trainer, Dr. Sameen delivered in-depth, hands-on sessions for participants from key districts, including Quetta, Uthal, Dera Murad Jamali, and Gwadar, focusing on yogurt, mozzarella, cheddar, processed cheese, and butter production. Each day highlighted one specific dairy product, with an emphasis on quality control, hygiene, and packaging, to empower participants in producing market-ready products for local and regional markets. Dr. Sameen???s expertise elevated the participants??? technical skills and reinforced the significance of safe and sustainable dairy practices, which are crucial for supporting rural livelihoods. The impact of Dr. Sameen???s involvement extends to her work at GCWUF, where her dedication to advancing dairy sciences and practical knowledge continues to uplift students and faculty alike. The event concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, where Dr. Muhammad Farooq Tareen, Director General of Livestock, and GRASP Provincial Project Manager Noor Khan Mengal commended Dr. Sameen???s role in enhancing local capacities.
