Two-Day International Conference on "Language, Literature, and Humanities in Global Context 2025" Successfully Held at GCWUF Faisalabad: The Faculty of Humanities and Languages at Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) successfully organized a two-day international conference on "Language, Literature, and Humanities in Global Context." The event brought together distinguished scholars, literary figures, and intellectuals from around the world to engage in insightful discussions on contemporary academic and cultural themes. Dr. Rukhsana Baloch convened the conference. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.), in her address to the audience of the Closing Ceremony, emphasized that while scientific advancements are crucial in today???s world, the significance of humanities and literature remains equally vital. She highlighted that language and literature are fundamental in fostering human values, preserving cultural heritage, and shaping societies. She further expressed that this intellectual and cultural gathering provided an excellent platform to discuss contemporary issues in language, literature, and humanities while also highlighting the importance of linguistic and literary heritage. She commended Dr. Rukhsana Baloch and her team for successfully curating such an important event. The first day of the conference featured multiple parallel research sessions, where experts presented 152 research papers covering diverse themes in language, literature, and humanities. The inaugural session was graced by Prof.Dr. Yousuf Khushk, the meritorious professor and Vice Chancellor Shah Abdul Latif University as the chief guest.He virtually participated in the conference. He talked about the importance of the field of Humanities in the Global context. Dr. Mazhar Hayat, Chairman Department of English at Riphah International University Faisalabad Campus delivered the keynote address. Notable international speakers, including Dr. Riffat Syed (Egypt), Dr. Ghassan Abdul Majeed (Syria), Dr. Ajaib Chattah (UK), and Prof.Dr. Nabila Rehman, Principal Oriental College, Punjab university, shared their scholarly perspectives. These sessions provided a rigorous academic dialogue on contemporary linguistic issues, literary evolution, and the role of humanities in the modern world. A stimulating panel discussion was also held featuring esteemed literary and academic figures, including Prof. Dr. Safeer Awan (renowned translator and writer), Dr. Waheed Ahmed (acclaimed poet), Dr. Tahira Iqbal (prominent fiction writer), Prof. Dr. Humayun Abbas Shams (scholar), and Prof. Dr. Ghulam Murtaza (renowned poet). The panelists engaged in a rich discourse on the evolution of modern literature, contemporary literary challenges, and the role of translation in bridging linguistic and cultural divides. The first day concluded with a grand Night Gala, featuring a poetry symposium and a Sufi music session. The Mushaaira was presided over by renowned poet Dr. Waheed Ahmed. Celebrated poets from across the country captivated the gathering with their creative compositions, while students also showcased their literary and artistic talents. On the final day, the conference continued with scholarly discussions, thematic debates, and literary dialogues, addressing the role and impact of language, literature, and humanities in the modern world. Scholars critically examined how these disciplines contribute to societal development, ethical discourse, and cultural sustainability. The conference ended on a note of thanks by the Convener.
