Dr. Sadaf Naqvi, Head of the Urdu Department at Government College Women University Faisalabad, recently participated online in the 9th International Conference organized by the Urdu Department of Lahore Garrison University. The theme of the conference was "Pakistani Identity in the Context of Urdu Literature." In her paper, Dr. Sadaf Naqvi discussed Allama Iqbal???s concept of nationalism, interpreting it within the framework of Pakistani identity. She highlighted that Iqbal did not confine nationalism to geographical boundaries but viewed it as rooted in divine unity, famously stating, "Every land is our land because it belongs to our God." Dr. Naqvi emphasized the fundamental role that the Urdu language has played in the creation of Pakistan, not only as a means of communication but as a unifying force and a crucial element of Pakistan???s national heritage. After her presentation, Dr. Sadaf Naqvi extended her gratitude to Professor Dr. Muhammad Arshad Awaisi, Head of the Urdu Department at Lahore Garrison University, for organizing the conference.
