Vice Chancellor of Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen attended the launch of the Women Empowerment Mentoring Programme (WEMP) by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan in Islamabad on 12 November 2024. Director Student Affairs Dr. Asma Aziz and (Coordinator, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Aysha Sameen accompanied the Vice Chancellor on this occasion. This initiative, led by the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE) under the Higher Education Development in Pakistan (HEDP) project, aims to empower female employees in academia through mentoring and professional development resources. Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen commended the programme, stating it aligns with GCWUF???s mission to support women???s advancement in education. The programme offers mentorship from globally recognized experts to improve communication skills and manage workplace challenges, equipping women to achieve personal and professional growth. Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister Youth Programme (PMYP), attended as chief guest, praising HEC???s efforts to promote female leadership and address women???s rights through reserved quotas, protection centres, and inheritance advocacy.
