Five-Day Capacity Building Program for Administrative Officers Kicks Off at GCWUF Faisalabad, December 2, 2024 ??? A five-day capacity-building program for administrative officers began today at Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF), aimed at enhancing the administrative skills and competencies of key personnel in the region???s top educational institutions. This workshop, held under the Higher Education Commission (HEC) National Outreach Program, is organized by the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) at GCWUF in collaboration with HEC Islamabad. The inauguration ceremony of the program featured Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.), Vice Chancellor of GCWUF, as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, the Vice Chancellor emphasized the importance of professional development for both teaching and non-teaching staff. She highlighted that the capacity building of administrative officers is just as crucial as the development of teaching faculty, stressing that a well-rounded and skilled workforce is key to the effective functioning of educational institutions. ???The HEC???s vision for professional development resonates with our commitment to excellence,??? said Prof. Dr. Ameen. ???Workplace ethics, along with technical and managerial competencies, are essential to be incorporated into our professional lives. By promoting respectful co-existence, we aim to create a collaborative and productive environment.??? The program has attracted 30 administrative officers from GCWUF, Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF), and National Textile University (NTU), all of whom will participate in the workshop's comprehensive training modules. The training covers critical areas such as interpersonal skills, leadership strategy and policy, business communication, financial management, and procurement planning. The training sessions are being coordinated by Dr. Hira Munir, Director of ORIC at GCWUF, and are conducted under the esteemed leadership of Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen. Notable participants include Raja Asif Hussain, Assistant Director of the National Academy of Higher Education (NAHE) at HEC Islamabad, who will oversee the training, and Engr. Dr. Aqsa Shabbir, Associate Professor at Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), joined today's session as the resource person. This initiative is part of GCWUF's ongoing efforts to provide high-quality professional development opportunities for staff, ensuring that all members are equipped with the skills needed to excel in their roles. The program reflects a deep commitment to fostering both academic and administrative excellence, in collaboration with national and regional educational partners.
