The Department of Nutritional Sciences in collaboration with the National Agriculture Education Accreditation Council (NAEAC) organized a seminar titled ???Quality Assurance and Accreditation Awareness??? on December 3, 2024, in the Jinnah Auditorium of the university. The event aimed to educate faculty, staff, and students about the accreditation process and the importance of maintaining high academic standards. Dr. Abdul Ghaffar, Secretary of NAEAC, and Mr. Abdullah, Deputy Director of Programs, were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli, Pro-Vice Chancellor, and Dr. Madiha Ilyas, Head of the Department of Nutritional Sciences. Dr. Madiha shared a detailed presentation on the department???s achievements, including admissions, research initiatives, collaborations, student outreach, and extracurricular accomplishments. Dr. Abdul Ghaffar delivered a keynote presentation on ???Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Education???, explaining NAEAC???s evaluation criteria, comprising eight main criteria and 73 sub-criteria. He emphasized the significance of accreditation in enhancing educational quality and shared data highlighting its impact over the past 14 years. The seminar, attended by faculty, students, and academic coordinators, showcased the Department of Nutritional Sciences??? efforts to uphold excellence in education and community engagement. Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.) praised the department???s initiatives and reaffirmed the university???s dedication to fulfilling accreditation requirements. The event concluded with the presentation of souvenirs to the NAEAC delegation. The Department of Nutritional Sciences, a leading department at GCWUF, offers a BS Human Nutrition and Dietetics (HND) program.
