The Department of Botany, GCWUF in collaboration with Horticultural Society and Botanical Society, Government Postgraduate College, Samanabad organized a tree plantation venture under the umbrella of Sarsabz Pakistan. The faculty and students helped Motorway Authority in planting more than 160 trees near Sahianwala service area. Dr. Ambreen Khadija Alvi (Incharge, Botany department), Mr. Ali Kamal (Assistant Professor, Government Postgraduate College, Samanabad), Mr. Imdad-Ullah (DSP Motorway Police), Mr. Adnan Ahmad (SPO, Motorway Police) and Mr. Shoukat (Petrolling Officer, Motorway Police) highlighted the importance of tree plantation in decreasing environmental pollution. The students showed great enthusiasm in plantation campaign and promised to participate actively in such events in future as well.
