Important Achievement

One day international Seminar on Impact of Climate Change on Vegetation (28-03-2019)


Changes in long term environmental conditions that can be collectively coined climate change, are known to have had enormous impacts on current plant diversity patterns; further impacts are expected in the future. To consider such alarming situation, Department of Botany, GC Women University, Faisalabad organized one day International Seminar entitled IMPACT OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON VEGETATION on 28th March, 2019. The Chief Guest, Vice Chancellor, GCWUF, Professor Dr. Sofia Anwar highlighted the importance of such open gathering knowledge sharing activities for students and emphasized on collaborative research with other institutes in future. Adding on, international distinguished guest Prof. Dr. Arnold Gegechkori and Prof. Dr. YouCai Xiong appreciated the organizers for arranging such an informative session. The other National speakers including Dr. Ashfaq Ahmad (Professor and Head Climate Change Research Group, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad), Dr. Mumtaz Hussain (Professor, Department of Botany, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad), Dr. Muhammad Arfan (Lecturer, Department of Botany, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad) appreciated the efforts of institute and department of botany for organizing this seminar.
