The seminar would be to explore how effective taxation policies and practices can contribute to the achievement of the United Nations' SDGs within the Pakistani context. Taxation is a key tool for financing sustainable development in Pakistan. It supports various SDGs, particularly poverty reduction, inequality reduction, and sustainable economic growth. However, the country faces challenges such as a low tax-to-GDP ratio, tax evasion, and weak administrative systems, which hinder effective revenue mobilization. Addressing these issues requires tax reforms, digitalization, and better enforcement to increase compliance. During discussions, students raised concerns about improving tax collection and ensuring fairness in the system. Strengthening taxation policies is essential for Pakistan???s economic growth and achieving long-term development goals.
