Dr. Rukhsana Bibi Advocates Revival of Sufi Teachings at Rumi–Sultan Bahoo ConferenceDr. Rukhsana Bibi, Assistant Professor of Urdu and Coordinator of Humanities and languages at Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF), participated as a guest speaker in the Three-Day International Conference on “Mevlana Rumi and Hazrat Sultan Bahoo: Preachers of Human Friendship, Peace, Love and Harmony”, held from April 22 to 24, 2025, at the National Language Promotion Department, Islamabad. The Muslim Institute and the National Language Promotion Department jointly organized the event.Representing GCWUF, Dr. Rukhsana highlighted that extremism and intolerance have dangerously taken root in society, weakening it from within. She emphasized the urgent need to revive values of tolerance, love, patience, and humanity, once deeply embedded in our culture through the teachings of Sufi saints, especially Hazrat Sultan Bahoo.She advocated reconnecting with Sufi traditions by reintroducing the chant “Hoo” and sharing Sufi poetry as lullabies for children. Dr. Rukhsana stressed that preserving the language of Sufi wisdom and integrating it into the education curriculum is key to nurturing a more peaceful and compassionate society.
