GCWUF Concludes Two-Day Training Workshop on Patents and Funded Projects for Profitable Research with Industries�Faisalabad, August 19, 2025 — Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) successfully concluded a two-day hands-on training workshop on “Patents and Funded Projects for Profitable Research with Industries”, organized by the Department of Chemistry in collaboration with the Faculty & Staff Development Centre (F&SDC) under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.).�The sessions were conducted by Prof. Dr. Hammad Majeed, Chairperson, Department of Chemistry & Director ORIC, UMT Lahore, who shared his expertise on patents, research funding mechanisms, and academia-industry linkages. With over 25 years of industrial experience, Dr. Majeed provided practical insights into patent drafting, the IPO application process, research commercialization, and strategies for developing start-ups and spin-offs.�The workshop featured active participation from GCWUF faculty, researchers, and participants from various universities in hybrid mode. Distinguished guests Mr. Haji Dastgeer, Chairman BOD Saffron Pharma, and Mr. Nazir Athar, Project Head, encouraged stronger academia-industry collaborations in pharmaceuticals and allied sectors.�In her concluding remarks, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli emphasized the significance of patents, funded projects, and research commercialization in driving innovation and economic growth. The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a group photo, marking the workshop as a successful step toward strengthening GCWUF’s research-industry partnerships.
