GCWUF Organizes Two-Day Workshop on Fish Emulsion-Based Eco-Technology for Sustainable Crop CultivationÚFaisalabad, August 21, 2025 — The Department of Botany, Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF), successfully organized a two-day workshop on “Fish Emulsion-Based Eco-Technology for Tomatoes and Other Crops Cultivation” on August 20–21, 2025.ÚThe event was inaugurated with a welcome address by Dr. Abida Kausar, Chief Organizer and Chairperson, Department of Botany, who highlighted the objectives of the workshop and acknowledged the support of the worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.).ÚOn Day I, distinguished resource person Mr. Sajid Iqbal Sandhu (CEO, Green Circle Pakistan) delivered an insightful lecture to farmers, researchers, and botanists, stressing the importance of sustainable agriculture, organic crop management, and eco-friendly fertilization methods. He elaborated on how fish emulsion technology enhances nutrient availability, strengthens disease resistance, and improves crop yields in an environmentally sustainable way.ÚDay II featured a hands-on training session led by Ms. Shagufta Naseem, PhD Scholar and Research Assistant, who demonstrated the preparation and application of fish emulsion-based fertilizer through foliar spray and soil methods. She explained its mode of action, emphasizing the role of organic nutrients, amino acids, and growth compounds in boosting root development, chlorophyll production, and overall plant vigor.ÚThe workshop concluded with the distribution of souvenirs and certificates. In the closing, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli appreciated the organizing team for arranging a workshop on such a significant theme in sustainable agriculture.
