Ph.D. Public Defense – Department of Zoology, GCWUFFaisalabad, October 23, 2025 — The Department of Zoology, Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF), organized the Ph.D. public defense of Ms. Uzma Sajid (Reg. No. 2014-GCWUF-0172, Session 2017–2020) in the Video Conference Room under the supervision of Dr. Sumaira Aslam.The scholar successfully defended her Ph.D. research titled “Conversion of Pressmud into Biofortified Compost by P-Solubilizing Nitrogen Fixing Mixed Microbial Culture.” Her study explored the bioconversion of pressmud, a by-product of the sugar industry, into nutrient-enriched compost using beneficial bacterial strains Bacillus amyloliquefaciens-ASK11 and Bacillus megaterium-ASNF3.Esteemed examiners from GCU Lahore and GCU Faisalabad, along with university officials and scholars, attended the session. The study contributes to sustainable agriculture, soil restoration, and environmental innovation, aligning with GCWUF’s vision for green biotechnology.
