Pak-Turk Cultural Bond Celebrated by opening Yunus Emre Cultural Institute and Paying Tribute to Women Freedom Icons through a Seminar and an ExhibitionÚFaisalabad, November 25, 2025 — The Women Development & Mentoring Centre at GCWUF celebrated the deep-rooted cultural and historical ties between Pakistan and TĂĽrkiye through an international seminar titled “Academic, Cultural, and Literary Ties between TĂĽrkiye and Pakistan”, along with the “Wonders of TĂĽrkiye” Exhibition and the opening of the Yunus Emre Cultural Institute at GCWUF.ÚÚProf. Dr. Halil Toker, Country Director of Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Centres in Pakistan, graced the event as Chief Guest. He highlighted the centuries-old bond of shared faith, affection, and sacrifice between the two nations and stressed the need to further enhance cultural harmony and cooperation.ÚÚVice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.) shared that the establishment of the Yunus Emre Cultural Centre at GCWUF will provide new opportunities for academic collaboration, language learning, and intercultural exposure. She also emphasized the importance of empowering women through equitable participation in national development.ÚÚThe program featured the inauguration of the “Wonders of TĂĽrkiye” exhibition, a documentary on Pak–Turk Women Freedom Icons, a cultural performance on Sufi poetry, and scholarly reflections drawing literary parallels between women-led independence movements of both countries. National anthems of Pakistan and TĂĽrkiye and a musical performance by Hafiz Abdullah added cultural vibrancy.ÚÚThe event was attended by Dr. Rabia Sarfraz, Dr. Hafiz Aamir Ali, Mr. Semih Duran, and Mr. Eren MiyasoÄźlu as Guests of Honour and concluded with a souvenir distribution ceremony. It was jointly organized by the Women Development & Mentoring Centre, Media & Communication Society, and Peace & Harmony Society.
