GCWUF Urdu Department Holds National Seminar on “Modern Paradigms in Urdu Research”�FAISALABAD, November 27, 2025 — The Department of Urdu, Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF), organized a one-day national seminar titled “Urdu Tehqeeq ke Jadeed Paradigms” to highlight contemporary directions in Urdu research.�Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.), the Patron-in-Chief of the event, emphasized the need for critical and analytical engagement with emerging research themes in Urdu studies.�Prof. Dr. Fakhr-ul-Haq Noori, Dean, Minhaj University Lahore, presided over the seminar and delivered an informed address on comparative research involving world literary traditions and historical perspectives of major religions.�Prof. Dr. Tariq Hashmi, Principal, Government Oriental Languages College (GCUF), underscored the importance of integrating modern technology into research practices. Associate Professor Dr. Saeed Ahmad highlighted the value of global translations as part of contemporary research paradigms, while Prof. Dr. Saima Arum, Chairperson, Department of Urdu, GC University Lahore, stressed incorporating emerging writers and new creative works into research frameworks.�Dr. Tayabba Nighat, Incharge, Department of Urdu, presented the seminar’s aims and objectives and expressed gratitude to all distinguished guests.
