Dr. Madiha Ilyas, Head of Department, Nutritional Sciences, Government College Women University, Faisalabad, participated as Keynote Panelist at World Health Day Seminar on “Obesity and Physical Fitness”, organized by the Standing Health Committee of the Faisalabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FWCCI) and the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) on 7th April 2026. During the expert panel discussion, she shared insightful views on the rising prevalence of obesity, its associated health risks, and evidence-based strategies for prevention and management. She particularly emphasized the importance of balanced nutrition, healthy dietary practices, regular physical activity, and long-term lifestyle modifications in addressing obesity and promoting overall well-being.The seminar brought together health professionals, academicians, industry representatives, and members of the community to raise awareness about the importance of physical fitness and healthy living. An awareness walk was also organized as part of the event to reinforce the message of adopting healthier lifestyles. The event successfully highlighted the urgent need to address obesity as a public health concern and encouraged collaborative efforts to build a healthier society
