Government College Women University Faisalabad organized a prestigious ceremony to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Pakistan-China friendship. Chief Guest Farooq Yousaf Sheikh, President FCCI, along with Patron-in-Chief Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen, Vice Chancellor GC Women University Faisalabad, inaugurated a poster exhibition on the diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China. The event started with the national anthems of both countries. Faculty coordinators, members, students, and a special delegation from the Confucius Center at UAF attended the cultural performances and cake-cutting ceremony at Jinnah Auditorium.ÚÚAddressing the gathering, Farooq Yousaf Sheikh described Pakistan-China friendship as a timeless symbol of trust, sacrifice, and shared progress. He said CPEC has strengthened economic cooperation, termed Faisalabad the backbone of Pakistan’s economy, and urged youth to adopt innovative thinking for national progress and economic stability. Vice Chancellor GCWUF Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen stated that over the past 75 years, Pakistan-China relations have evolved into an exemplary partnership rooted in mutual respect and collective growth. Highlighting China’s development model, discipline, and national commitment as an inspiration for Pakistan’s future progress, she urged students to promote education, research, discipline, and national harmony.ÚÚThe ceremony featured special documentaries on the Pakistan-China friendship, CPEC, Gwadar Port, and ongoing development projects, along with cultural performances and a poster exhibition to celebrate the longstanding ties between the two countries. The event was jointly organized by the Directorate of Student Affairs, the Departments of Political Science and Islamic Studies, and the Confucius Center GCWUF Chapter. A large number of faculty members and students attended the event, which concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony to commemorate the deep diplomatic bond.
