Obesity Screening and Awareness Session for Healthy Living Held at GC Women University FaisalabadMay 7, 2026 — Government College Women University Faisalabad organized the Ujala Obesity Screening and Awareness Session for students and university employees to promote preventive healthcare and raise awareness about obesity, diabetes, and other non-communicable diseases. The event was organized by the Community Welfare Society, GCWUF, in collaboration with the Lyallpur Diabetes Foundation and the Department of Botany, GCWUF, with the support of Getz Pharma.Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.) appreciated the organizers for arranging a meaningful health awareness initiative for students and employees. She pointed out that academic institutions have an important role in promoting preventive healthcare, healthy lifestyle choices, and community engagement.Distinguished speakers, including Dr. Ahmad Shahzad, General Physician; Prof. Dr. Samina Haq, Gynecologist; and Dr. Irfan, Associate Professor, Allied Hospital Faisalabad, highlighted the significance of early diagnosis, balanced nutrition, physical activity, and lifestyle modification in preventing obesity-related health complications. A free screening camp, arranged on this occasion, offered blood sugar testing, cholesterol screening, BMI measurement, and obesity assessment. More than 350 screenings were conducted during the day. Director Academics, Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli, with coordinators and staff, visited the camp. The program successfully created awareness about healthy living and encouraged participants to adopt preventive measures for long-term well-being.
