Urdu Department Holds Seminar on “Urdu Novel in the Digital Age”FAISALABAD, May 20, 2026 — The Department of Urdu, Government College Women University Faisalabad, organized a one-day seminar titled “Urdu Novel in the Digital Age” to discuss emerging trends, possibilities, and challenges of Urdu fiction in the digital era.The seminar was held under the patronage of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.) and was presided over by renowned novelist, critic, and historian Muhammad Hafeez Khan (T.I.), who spoke on the impact of technology, the internet, and electronic media on the form, style, and themes of the Urdu novel.Prof. Dr. Sher Ali, Dean, Faculty of Languages, Alhamd University, Islamabad; Prof. Dr. Rabia Sarfraz, Chairperson, Department of Urdu, GCUF; and Dr. Nazia Parveen also shared academic insights on the evolving demands of Urdu fiction in the 21st century.Incharge Department of Urdu Dr. Tayyaba Nighat thanked the guests and participants. Bazgha Qandeel served as focal person, while Dr. Bushra Ilm-ud-Din conducted the proceedings. Faculty members and students attended the seminar.
