Bridging academia and industry! The Bioactive Society of the Department of Biochemistry recently hosted an insightful industrial visit to Dawn Industry. Organized under the visionary leadership of Worthy Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.) and Chairperson Dr. Mubashra Sadia, this experiential learning initiative bridged theoretical biochemistry and industrial biotechnology. The visit offered a firsthand look at advanced, automated bioprocess engineering in commercial baking; spanning raw ingredient formulation, microbial optimization during yeast fermentation, and precision packaging. Students explored how food biotechnology, enzymatic controls, and biochemical quality assurance drive food safety, strict hygiene protocols, and product consistency at scale. Concluding with a presentation of custom Dawn Bread products, this successful tour translated textbook concepts into industrial realities while forging new avenues for biotechnology internships and future academic-corporate collaborations!
