December 2 to 4, 2025_ Department of Biochemistry GCWUF hosted the 3rd National and 2nd International Conference on Natural Products, Biochemistry, and Pharmaceutical Applications (NPBPA-2025), bringing together leading academics, industry experts, and international scholars. The event was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Anwar-ul-Hassan Gilani (Chief Guest) with Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (Patron-in-Chief) and Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli (Pro-Vice Chancellor GCWUF) in attendance. Organized by Dr. Mubshara Saadia and compiled by Dr. Aysha Shaheen, the three-day hybrid conference featured keynote addresses from figures such as Prof. Dr. Shahzad Basra, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Afzal and Prof Dr. Zulfiqar Ali covering topics from plant-based drug discovery to climate change and stem cell research. Industry leaders including Mr. Irfan Shahid(CEO Awami Laboratories) and Mr. Navid Anwaar Khan emphasized commercialization of herbal products, while international experts from Malaysia, Oman, China, and Ireland enriched the discussions. The program also included poster exhibitions, product displays, and an AI workshop led by Dr. Muhammad Tahir Akhtar and Dr. Fiaz-ur-Rehman. With over 80% of participants advocating for regular continuation, the conference successfully advanced interdisciplinary collaboration, inspired young researchers, and reinforced Pakistan's role in natural product sciences.
