The department of Botany organized a three-day plantation drive as part of the district government's 'Plantation for Generations' initiative, reinforcing its commitment to environmental sustainability and green campus development. The drive was inaugurated by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.), as the Chief Guest at the Main Campus, and subsequently extended to the New Campus. A total of 500 saplings'including fruit and shady trees'were planted across both campuses. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen emphasized the importance of tree planting as a long-term investment in a healthier, more sustainable future. She urged students to take ownership of environmental protection efforts and contribute actively toward building a greener Pakistan. She appreciated the efforts of Dr. Abida Kouser and her team in making commendable arrangements for the drive. The plantation activity saw active participation from administrative and academic heads, as well as students from the Media and Communication Society, Character Building Society, and Clean & Green Society, reflecting a collective institutional effort toward environmental stewardship.
