The Department of Chemistry, Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF), successfully organized Science Day 2025 and Science week (12-16 November 2025) on 12th November 2025, celebrating innovation, scientific learning, and collaboration between academia and industry with theme 2025 Trust, Transformation, and Tomorrow: The Science We Need for 2050", Focusing to Emphasizes building trust in science, enabling scientific transformation, and preparing for the future. It highlights science's role in peace, progress, and sustainability. The event was inaugurated by the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr. Kanwal Amin, who praised the Department s efforts to integrate practical knowledge with modern industrial requirements. She was accompanied by Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli, Coordinator Science & Technology, Dr. Sadia Asim, Registrar GCWUF. Guests from Saffron Pharmaceutical Industry Faisalababd (Ghulam Dastaghir, Chairman, Diretor Marketing and Sales & Mr. Athar mir, Plant Manager) also visted the projects. In her inaugural address, Dr. Kanwal Amin emphasized the importance of experiential learning, skill development, and strengthening university industry partnerships to empower young scientists. A key highlight of the event was the Chemistry Department s exhibition, where students presented a diverse collection of cosmetic and dye industry-related products. These formulations were designed and prepared by faculty, research scholars and 5th-semester (M.A. and M.B) students as part of their Industrial Chemistry-II practical course. The exhibition featured a range of innovative cosmetic products including lotions, creams, and herbal soaps as well as eco-friendly paint dyes developed for painting applications. These projects demonstrated the students ability to apply classroom learning to create sustainable and market relevant products. Visitors, faculty members, and university officials appreciated the creativity and scientific rigor displayed by the students. The exhibition underscored Department of Chemistry, GCWUF s mission to promote hands on scientific education, encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship among young chemists.
