Dr. Saiqa Sadiq (Head, Department of Public Administration, GCWUF) was selected by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan under the Pakistan Sri Lanka Faculty Exchange Programme and visited Sri Lanka from 5 15 February 2026. During the visit, she participated in the OPA (Organization of Professional Associations) Forum and held academic meetings with Prof. (Ms.) Ilmi G.N. Hewajulige (Director General/CEO, Industrial Technology Institute ITI), Prof. S. Malavipathirana (Chairman, ITI), and Prof. B.D. Rohitha Prasantha (vice chancellor, University of Peradeniya). She presented her research project Utilization of Solar Energy in the Rural Food Sector: A Sustainable and Policy-Driven Approach and discussed prospects for collaborative research and academic exchange. GCWUF souvenirs were also presented as a gesture of institutional goodwill and future cooperation. These engagements highlighted the importance of international academic collaboration and enhanced the global outreach of GCWUF.
