GCWUF Pays Tribute to Sir Syed Ahmad Khan’s Legacy of Education and Character BuildingOctober 17, 2025 — On the 208th birth anniversary of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, the Character Building Society under VC'||chr(39)||'s DYL Program, in collaboration with the Department of History and Pakistan Studies, organized an awareness walk and a seminar titled “Sir Syed Ahmad Khan’s Vision for the Muslim Ummah: Education and Character Building.”Held under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.), Vice Chancellor GCWUF, the event aimed to honor Sir Syed’s remarkable contributions to education, reform, and the intellectual awakening of Muslims.Distinguished speakers Prof. Dr. Rizwan Ullah Kokab and Dr. Yasir Arfat from GCUF shed light on Sir Syed’s vision of integrating modern education with Islamic values, emphasizing rationality, tolerance, and scientific inquiry as keys to Muslim empowerment. Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli, Pro Vice Chancellor GCWUF, highlighted Sir Syed’s foresight in promoting English education for social uplift.Dr. Shazia, In-charge Department of Islamic Studies, introduced the Character Building Society, describing it as a movement to instill honesty, self-accountability, and service to humanity. The session included a documentary, an interactive Q&A, and concluded with cake-cutting and souvenir distribution, celebrating Sir Syed’s enduring legacy of enlightenment and reform.
