The Mathematics Department celebrates its annual function and prize distribution ceremony The Department of Mathematics, GCWUF, organized an ???Annual Function and Prize Distribution Ceremony??? on November 30th, 2023. The event was graced by the Vice Chancellor GCWUF, Prof. Dr. Zill i Huma Nazli, as the chief guest. In her address, she praised the passion and enthusiasm of the faculty members and students of the mathematics department, who had arranged the event under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Saima Akram (Chairperson, Department of Mathematics, GCWUF). It is important to mention here that the successful conduction of this function was an output of the voluntary efforts of students of Mathematics Students??? Societies, which had recently been launched in the department as per the vision of Prof. Dr. Saima Akram. Other notables from GCWUF, such as Dr. Rukhsana Baloch, Coordinator Humanities and Languages, Dr. Nousheen, Coordinator Management and Business Administrative, Dr. Aasma Khalid, Director of Quality Enhancement Cell, Ms. Ammara Javed, Additonal Director Media Cell, Dr. Mubashra Sadia, Chairperson Bio-Chemistry Department, and Dr. Asma Aziz, Director of Students Affairs, were also invited guests at the event along with others. In their speeches, each of them expressed gratitude for the brilliance displayed by the mathematics department's students and offered guidance based on their experiences in their respective fields. The formal session of the event included a prize distribution ceremony, where the students who secured good positions in their academics were awarded certificates and medals by the worthy Vice Chancellor. Prof. Dr. Saima Akram (Chairperson Department of Mathematics, GCWUF) shared in her address her vision behind awarding the students at the departmental level, saying that she believes encouragement and appreciation can instill in the students the courage of doing their best and becoming shining and bright individuals. She went on saying that students are motivated when they experience this kind of recognition, so it's imperative to give them access to environments in which they can find support and motivation. Thus, this was the primary motivation for planning the Annual Function and Prize Distribution Ceremony in the department. The event also featured a recreational session where the students performed different cultural activities. Other healthy activities, such as quizzes, games, and competitions, were also conducted by the faculty members and students. The guests and the audience enjoyed the function and appreciated the organizers for arranging such an amazing event. The event concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony for all the faculty members and organizers, who were honored by the Vice Chancellor for their contribution and dedication.
