GCWUF Hosts Research Day on ??????Climate Change Adaptability???

On October 31st, in collaboration with Superior University, GCWUF celebrated a research day titled "Climate Change Adaptability." This one-day event was organized by the Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), and the Department of Botany. A series of activities took place under the umbrella of the Botany Department, including a campus clean-up drive, a micro-farm gardening workshop, and a plantation initiative. Dr. Aasma Khalid, Director of QEC, delivered a talk entitled "From Quality Education to Climate Solutions: The Academic Path to Sustainable Development and Indigenous Empowerment." In her presentation, Dr. Khalid emphasized the essential role of academia in providing high-quality education that fosters innovation and community-based approaches. This paves the way for tangible climate solutions and contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Addressing climate change adaptability not only aligns with SDG 13: Climate Action but also intersects with various other SDGs due to the interconnected nature of climate, ecosystems, economies, and social systems.
