Self-Review of Institutional Performance and Enhancement (RIPE) Visit Government College Women University Faisalabad (GCWUF) The Directorate of Quality Enhancement Cell organized a successful self-RIPE visit to Government College Women University Faisalabad from June 26th to 28th, 2024. Mr. Muhammad Waseem, Director QEC, National College of Arts (NCA), Lahore joined as an external member of Self-RIPE, whereas Dr. Aasma Khalid, Director QEC/Additional Registrar GCWUF, Mr. Asif A. Malik, Registrar GCWUF, Mr. Muhammad Tariq Shahzad, Director IT Services GCWUF, Dr. Nausheen Syed, Treasurer GCWUF and Dr. Sadia Asim, Director Planning and Development joined as internal member of Self-RIPE Visit. Further, the Lead Student Representative (LSR) joined the panel as well. Day 01: June 26th, 2024 The first session of Day 1 started with the introduction of the university by Registrar GCWUF Mr. Asif A. Malik. He highlighted key features of university governance and major initiatives of the University Research and Development. He highlighted the quality measures and practices accomplished by the university under the vigilant leadership of Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli, Vice Chancellor GCWUF. The external member evaluated the RIPE based on sixteen Standards: Strategic Development * Standard 1: Vision, mission, goals, and strategic planning * Standard 2: Governance, leadership and organization * Standard 3: Institutional resources and planning * Standard 4: Audit and Finance* Standard 5: Affiliated colleges/institutions ???Standard 6: Internationalisation of higher education and global engagement Academic Development * Standard 7: Faculty recruitment, development, and support services * Standard 8: Academic programs and curricula * Standard 9: Admission, progression, assessment and certification * Standard 10: Student support services * Standard 11: Impactful teaching and learning and community engagement ???Standard 12: Research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and industrial linkage Institutional Development * Standard 13: Fairness and integrity * Standard 14: Public information and transparency * Standard 15: Institutional effectiveness, quality assurance and enhancement * Standard 16: CQI and cyclical external quality assurance This session aimed to review the understanding and implementation of basic principles of Institutional Performance and IPE-related standards. Day 02: June 27th, 2024 Day 02 of the Self-RIPE Panel started with reviewing the standards individually. All the focal persons defended their standards successfully. The panel highlighted the areas of improvement which will eventually help the university in achieving great success. Further, the Self-RIPE Panel conducted the meeting with students of GCWUF. This session was based on discussion with students of all departments. The external member inquired about facilities in labs, and reservations related to courses, teaching, and research facilities. The students gave their feedback on multiple contents related to their academic life. The third session was based on a discussion with the faculty members of all teaching departments. The panel discussed various aspects of course files and question papers. The Director QEC Dr. Aasma Khalid thanked Mr. Muhammad Waseem for his insightful review throughout the day. The panel will visit the campus tomorrow and review the infrastructure, Labs, E-Rozgaar, Health Unit, Sports Facilities, Library, Smart Classrooms, cafeteria, and Hostels.
