Tree planting is necessary to save Pakistan from the troubles of climate change and global warming, for which every citizen must play its role. Under the kind patronage of Prof. Dr. Zill-i-Huma Nazli, Vice Chancellor GCWUF, Department of Botany in collaboration with Green Youth Movement and Quality Enhancement Cell GCWUF, organized an in-campus plantation drive ???Plant for Pakistan???, on Thursday March 21, 2024, to commemorate International Forest Day. Mr. Maqsood Ahmmad Lone CTO Faisalabad initiated the activity by planting Rubber plant in front of administration block GCWUF. Mr. Javed Shah, Deputy Director Horticulture Madina Town PHA, Mr. Asif A. Malik, Registrar, GCWUF, Prof. Dr. Saima Akram, Coordinator Faculty of Science and Technology, Prof. Dr. Aysha Sameen, Coordinator Faculty of Aarts and Social Sciences, Dr. Abida Kausar, Acting Chairperson Department of Botany, Dr. Mubshara Saadia, Acting Chairperson Department of Biochemistry, faculty members and students of Botany Department participated in this activity and planted Snake plant, Peace lily, English ivy, Golden potuor, Dracaena, and Lady palm at various points.
