Department of Education GCWUF organized a one-day Seminar on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) under the direction of the Ministry of Planning and Development and a special initiative by the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) on Monday, 29th April 2024. The seminar aimed to raise awareness and discuss the importance of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in achieving a sustainable future for an effective Education system in Pakistan. The seminar started with a welcome and introductory note by Dr. Aminah Qayyum, focal person for SDGs in the Department of Education. The Guest Speaker Dr. Shafqat Rasool from GCUF, Department of Education highlighted the significance, targets, and progress made so far related to quality education. He talked about the best practices and challenges faced by the Primary Education System of Pakistan. His talk was followed by a panel discussion on challenges, opportunities, and potential solutions for achieving SDG's. HOD Dr. Salma Shahid, head of the Department of Education shared her perspective on establishing a working group to explore potential collaborations and projects aligned with SDGs.
