In collaboration with the Directorate of Faculty Development, The Department of Food Science and Technology, GCWUF organized a One Day Training session on ???Innovative Pedagogical Tools and Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education??? on Monday, August 19th in the video conference room. Prof. Dr. Aysha Sameen, Chairperson Department of Food Science and Technology inaugurated the session with her preamble. Prof. Dr. Saima Akram, Chairperson Department of Mathematics/Coordinator Faculty of Science and Technology and Dr. Salma Shahid (Incharge Department of Biochemistry), accompanied the Chairperson along with other dignitaries. Resource Person, Prof. Dr. Aamir Shehzad (PhD, HDR Food Science and Agro-Industry UniLaSalle, International Campus Rouen, Normandy University, France) spotlighted the innovative pedagogies as a powerful tool to learn and prepare the lectures in audio and videos for improving the teaching outcomes. He explained that pedagogical tools are mandatory to deliver lectures and allow individuals to communicate and understand a problem generated from theory, practical activities, Flip classes and tutorials. Furthermore, he focused the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in higher education has risen quickly with development of new AI tools for instructors and learners owing to their customized prompt feedback and evaluation besides predict their academic success. Moreover, he introduced the latest softwares for educators and students including Wooclap, Moodle, ICTs, AI, GPT, Copilot, Winston, Quillbot, Speechify, NOLEJ and Fliki for project based learning with continuous control. Lastly, Prof. Dr. Saima Akram concluded the event expressing her gratitude to the focal person for sharing his expertise and knowledge among attendees and emphasized to implement the latest pedagogical tools and innovative strategies in classrooms. Afterwards, she presented souvenir to the honorable speaker as a token of remembrance. Overall, a highly informative training was going to end followed by question and answer session to clarify the queries of faculty members.
