On May 5th, 2025, The Department of Public Administration, operating under the Faculty of Management and Administrative Sciences, Government College Women University Faisalabad, organized an educational tour to the Parliament House, Islamabad. The objective was to provide students with practical exposure to Pakistan???s legislative processes and deepen their understanding of democratic institutions. The tour was supervised by Prof. Dr. Saima Akram, Coordinator, Faculty of Management and Administrative Sciences. Dr. Saiqa Sadiq, Head of the Department of Public Administration, served as the Tour Incharge, while Ms. Nasreen Akhtar acted as the Focal Person for the visit. A detailed and insightful briefing was delivered by Mr. Syed Hassan Raza Gillani, Deputy Secretary Legislation, National Assembly of Pakistan. He explained the legislative process, discussed the functions of the National Assembly and Senate, and highlighted student engagement opportunities, particularly in the Standing Committee on Education. Students actively participated in the session, posing thoughtful questions about the Finance Bill, Money Bill, and various aspects of the legislative system. The interaction helped enhance their practical understanding of fiscal and public policy matters. In addition to the Parliament House, the students visited Constitutional Street, showcasing Pakistan legal evolution. The Parliamentary Library and Senate Museum, preserving parliamentary heritage. The Pakistan Monument, symbolizing national unity and historical sacrifice. The renowned Faisal Masjid, an architectural and spiritual landmark. The tour proved to be an intellectually enriching experience, aligning academic knowledge with real world governance practices. It reinforced the department commitment to experiential learning, civic engagement, and its alignment with SDG 16 Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions and SDG 17 Partnerships for the Goals.
