One Day Visit Report at the Office of the Deputy Director, Development and Planning Submitted to, Mrs. Nasreen Akhtar Submitted by, Semester 8th, Session, 2021 to 2025 Date of Visit, 29th April 2025 As part of our academic curriculum to understand the practical functioning of public policy and development planning, we undertook a one day educational visit to the office of the Deputy Director, Development and Planning. The visit was designed to connect theoretical frameworks with on ground administrative practices and developmental activities. We were honored to meet Mr. Naveed Iqbal, Deputy Director, who conducted an interactive and informative session. He shared valuable insights into the structure, responsibilities, and operational mechanisms of the department. The discussion focused on the policy formulation process, resource allocation, stakeholder engagement, and the challenges faced in implementing development projects at the grassroots level. An in depth interview was also conducted, during which Mr. Iqbal highlighted the collaborative role of local forums, the importance of community involvement, and the role of interdepartmental coordination in the successful execution of public initiatives. Following the session, we visited an ongoing development site under the department???s jurisdiction. This field visit provided us with direct exposure to the monitoring and evaluation practices used in real time project execution. We observed how administrative planning translates into tangible outcomes in the community. CORE OBSERVATIONS, The critical role of local administrators in development planning and policy execution. This visit significantly enriched our understanding of the public sector role in development and served as a practical complement to our academic studies.
