The students of the Department of Nutritional Sciences, GCWUF actively participated in Academia-Industry Nexus 2026 organized by Business Incubation Center, GCUF. Their participation was facilitated under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.) and the supervision of Dr. Madiha Ilyas (HOD) through the university Business Incubation Centre (BIC). The event provided a dynamic platform for students to present innovative nutrition-based products and interact with industry professionals and academic experts. The department showcased innovative products including Glycemic Guard Flour, Gluco Nut, and Snackers, all developed with a focus on diabetes management and healthier dietary alternatives. In addition, NutriRoots, an extensive nutrition guide for children, was selected for poster presentation and appreciated for its educational and practical significance in promoting child health and nutrition awareness. The participation reflected the department s dedication to innovation, research, and the practical application of nutritional sciences while strengthening academia-industry collaboration. Dr. Madiha Ilyas, Head of the Department of Nutritional Sciences at Government College Women University Faisalabad, participated in an awareness seminar titled Mental Health in Current Era , organized by the Standing Committee on Women Health of the Faisalabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The event was held on Friday, May 15, 2026, under the convenorship of Dr. Najma Afzal Khan. The seminar brought together professionals, academicians, and community stakeholders to discuss the growing mental health challenges faced in the modern era. Experts highlighted key issues including addiction, women s mental health concerns, and the psychological impact of the digital age. The speakers emphasized the importance of awareness, early intervention, and preventive strategies to promote mental well-being and improve quality of life. Dr. Madiha Ilyas actively participated in the discussions and appreciated the efforts of the organizers in addressing a critical public health issue. Her participation reflects the commitment of Government College Women University Faisalabad to promoting mental health awareness, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, and contributing to community well-being.
