Under the visionary leadership of Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.), Worthy Vice Chancellor, Government College Women University Faisalabad, the Department of Nutritional Sciences-GCWUF, successfully organized a seminar titled Industry Academia Linkages Transforming Education into Opportunity. The event was organized under the convenorship of Dr. Madiha Ilyas, Head of the Department of Nutritional Sciences, aimed to strengthen academia industry partnerships while equipping students with practical insights into innovation, entrepreneurship, and emerging opportunities in the food and nutrition sector. The seminar featured distinguished speakers from industry and professional organizations. Dr. Habib Aslam Gaba, Convener, S/C on Industry Academia Linkages, policy advocacy and SDGs, Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI), highlighted the role of industry academia collaboration in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Prof. Dr. Shahzad Basra, from Virsa Agri Farms & Services, shared insights on the commercialization of innovative products and transforming research into marketable solutions. Mr. Rana Naveed Anwaar, CEO of Nabbat Cares, encouraged students to embrace entrepreneurship and innovation for building future business. Mr. Muhammad Arshad, Founder and CEO of PAMICO Technologies, discussed emerging trends in food processing technologies and industrial innovation. The speakers pledged their support for students through internships, industrial visits, mentorship, collaborative projects, research opportunities, financial grants for promising entrepreneurial ventures, and special discounted packages on industry machinery and equipment to encourage student-led startups and innovation in the food sector. The Worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Kanwal Ameen (T.I.), Chief Guest of the event, appreciated the valuable contributions of the guest speakers and commended the efforts of Dr. Madiha Ilyas HOD, Department of Nutritional Sciences for providing a platform that connects students with industry leaders. A special feature of the event was the display of innovative nutrition-based products developed by students of BS (HND). The exhibition showcased students creativity, entrepreneurial potential, and commitment to develop nutraceuticals, functional foods and supplements . The seminar also provided an engaging platform for students to interact directly with industry experts through an interactive question/answer session, where discussions focused on entrepreneurship, commercialization, innovation, and career opportunities. The event also included the distribution of certificates among members of the Nutrition & Wellness Society (NWS) of the Department of Nutritional Sciences in recognition of their dedication and active contribution to departmental activities. The ceremony celebrated students commitment to promoting nutrition awareness, wellness, and community engagement. The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Madiha Ilyas, who expressed gratitude to the Worthy Vice Chancellor, distinguished speakers, faculty members, students, and organizers for their valuable participation.
